A great independent school grows from a commitment to its vision and mission, and to its students, both present and future. Fraser Valley School, founded in 2008, is a growing school whose students, parents and faculty are committed to our vision – a community of courageous contributors.
We nurture the development of relevant skills and essential attitudes that allow our learners to be well-informed, thoughtful, principled citizens who commit to being courageous contributors who take action.
The program is built around authentic, experience-based learning that develops the whole child. Under the experienced leadership of our Head of School, Ms. Laurel Middelaer, and with the commitment of our talented faculty, FVS became an authorized IB school for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Grades K – 5 in 2017.
We are a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and plan to have high school offerings going forward.
After a humble beginning, we are now embarking on a path to expand our current K – 8 courses to include K-12 by 2025. This will be accomplished by adding a successive grade each year.
This is an exciting time in the school’s journey as both families and educators work together to create an even stronger school community, one where our students are known, nurtured and thrive.
